Most hose bibb connections are not readily able to be seen. Compression fittings are required to be accessible (and seen) at all times.

So are these usually screw on? If there's rarely any room to tighten, then that means there's rarely any room to solder either.

Most are threaded. The frost free type are longer and have threads and/or sweat ends.

Whoa...how do you unthread a faucet without running the risk of breaking the solder joint on the other end?

Is pipe dope usually used, or teflon tape?
