So I’ve done knockdown texture a couple times on some renovating/remodeling stuff, and I’ve learned that I always have trouble with when I get up to the ceilings where the hopper texture feeder thing always hits the ceiling. It’s especially difficult when I get to where a corner meets the ceiling. I use all premixed purpose joint compound and water it down a bit to make it easier for the hopper. I use the large tip on the hopper gun, and I use the recommended PSI on the compressor. When I get to the ceiling, sometimes I can angle the hopper a bit and it will still spit out the texture enough to hit the ceiling/top of the wall with enough to get a good knockdown. Sometimes it doesn’t. So I’ll adjust the PSI a bit higher, but then it just looks more like an orange peel texture with less big globs of compound to make a knockdown.
If you have any tips/recommendations for my issue, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
