Honeywell VisionPro IAQ On/Auto/CIRC???

About 7-8 years ago I installed the above thermostat in our house. A few months ago I had an issue where the main blower overheated and wouldn't kick on. This caused the display on the thermostat to go blank.

Long story short, I had a tech come out to diagnose the issue and he ended up replacing the main blower motor and hooked everything back up....all good. EXCEPT, now I'm not sure I have the correct settings on my thermostat. I didn't notice right away and maybe I'm imagining I had a setting I don't actually have. It seems I can turn the Fan ON, I can turn the fan to RECIRCULATE, or I can turn it to AUTO, but even while on AUTO it wants to Recirculate and shows AUTO/CIRC. I thought when on AUTO it would only kick the fan on when the unit called for heating or cooling....did the tech hook something up wrong?

I normally like it on Recirculate as I think it keeps the air distributed better throughout the house, but there are days I turn everything off, but the fan still seems to kick on every 15min or so. This morning I kept lowering the temp, HEAT ON, and the fan kept running and running and running....it finally kicked off after lowering the heat even more.

Check the schedule on the t-stat - the fan may be programmed to circ at certain times.
I've actually wondered about that and I checked that earlier, it is set to circ when running the scheduled programs, BUT if I manually over-ride the temp shouldn't that over-ride the fan setting as well? I even tried to adjust the fan inside the programming and that didn't seem to work.

The schedule overrides the auto for fan on honeywell stats. The manual recirc or ON will override the auto in the schedule.
(IE. Either manual or schedule will turn the fan on, but won't turn it off)

The temperature and mode are handled differently.

Cheers!

I don't know - it's a good question, i don't have this stat.

Over-ride temp may only do temp. Try changing all the programming to auto.

If it says auto/circ, it's probably following the programming and any over-ride applies only during the present time period.

No. Fan setting is completely independent of temp setting, even when over riding the programmed temp. So as long as you have program periods that have recirc, or fan on, the fan will run, even if you set the system to off.
