the thermostat has an led inside the plastic housing that will light up when the system is put into the EM HEAT mode. but, that stupid little led produces some heat when in this mode and that little bit of heat inadvertainly raises the temperature of the thermostat 2 degrees above the actual room temperature; which also happens to be above whatever you had the thermostat set to call for heat;and your thermostat is now inadvertainly set too low for the room temperature that you want the thermostat to maintain !!! how can i eliminate that little led from coming on; wiring wise ????

You don't, and it absolutely is not affecting the thermostats operation. Find your owners manual, you may be able to adjust the themostats calibration.

I appreciate you responding; but; that little bit of heat inadvertainly raises the temperature of the thermostat 2 degrees above the actual room temperature.

are you saying that if i have the stat set to call for heat below 72% and the room displayed temp on the stat now shows 74%, the stat will operate properly. It seems to me that if the shown room temp is 74 and i hacve the stat set for 72 it will never call for heat because the room temp now seems to be 74 ?????

Im pretty sure Honeywell knows how to make a tstat... :) For whatever reason, your heating system is over shooting the desired temperature setting. Probably the tstat is not set up correctly...
