Have a Trane XC95m gas furnance and XR15 A/C. Thermostat is a Honeywell RTH6700.

The Furnace is a multistatge(variable) and the A/C is single. The RTH67000 does not have an option for this set-up and was wondering two things:

1) Does setting the setting for function 0170 (Select System Type) to 9 result in not taking advantage of the furnace's ability to be multiple stage since the setting refers to a 2 stage heat?

2) The Furnace has something called ComfortR, which ramps up the A/C to help dehumidify the air some. Does the RTH6700 have any control of that or its that a setting on the furnace itself?

3) Is this the right thermostat for this equipment? Can you recommend one that would be more effective(if needed) in managing the capabilities of the equipment?

Thank You for your attention

your furnace controls the blower speed through its setting on the control board. I would prefer a honeywell vision pro IAQ The dehumidification control can be very useful on a furnace with a variable speed blower. It can control multiple stages. It will also control a humidifier, and ventilation should you ever decide to add those components.
