Just had my seasonal a/c checkup. It was suggested i have a surge protector installed at a/c disconnect. i can buy and install a nice Intermatic for 1/4 the price charged by a/c company.

I got to thinking and I am considering an Eaton whole house type 2 surge protector.

If i go this route is there any need for a protector at the a/c disconnect or will the eaton cover everything inc. my a/c (sub panel)?

Seems like a no brainer to go whole house for a few dollars more to protect everything.

Any suggestions??
