Went to test sprinklers by zone and all zone came on and went off except zone one which would not cut off at any point. Tried manual shut off and did not work, actaully pulled wire from wire bundle at control box and still would not shut off. Had to turn water off from the street to make it shut off. What is the most likley cause of this type of maufunction?

Grit is stuck in the valve. Remove the top and clean it. Sprinklers require a lot of filtering.

solenoid couls be sticking, or the bladder inside the valve could have just made it's leas movement before tearing.
