I suspect the pumps are pretty well all the same. Engines are probably the variables. Mine has Honda engine but in every respect it doesn't appear to be much different than my Toro Briggs and Stratton .

I brought out my 13-year-old Karcher (electric) pressure washer last weekend and it died. It worked really well for a long time.

When I went to Lowe's to buy a new one, they only had the Greenworks brand available (in electric).

I bought the $199 model and brought it home. It was easy to put together, but I used it for about an hour-and-a-half and it suddenly quit working. I checked to make sure it was still getting power - it was and there was still water in it. Then I noticed that it was very hot, so I think it overheated. I let it set for a while and it still wouldn't start up again. I returned it to the store.

The Karcher brand that I used for years NEVER overheated like that. I could use that thing all day with no issues whatsoever. I won't buy another Greenworks.

For the homeowner grade washers there are, if I recall correctly, 3 different pump makers. Two of them are used most often. The engines (gas models) are either going to be Briggs & stratton or Tequemseh with a few hondas and Kohlers thrown in for good measure. Brand name of the washer is irrelevant.

I bought a Troy-Bilt from Lowe's 3 years ago and it has been a trooper for me. The newer TB's at Lowe's are not as good. Lots of premature failures. Of course, they are built cheap and are basically throw-a-way units from the many reviews I have read.

If you can step up your budget a bit, get a Simpson. They do seem to be more reliable with longer lasting pumps.

I have a good lawn and garden/power equipment dealer that provides sales/service/parts. While their prices tend to be higher than the big box, I think their equipment quality is better. Buying there means that they stay in business.

On the rare occasions that I need parts, it's run in there and pick it up, no waiting for it to be shipped.

If you have a similar dealer, I would suggest you check their product lines and prices.
