Hi all.

I’ve noticed that my HVAC isn’t calling to cool when it’s warm out.

I noticed last season as we left summer into Fall (Houston). I thought it was my imagination as when I came home (travel for a living) it was working.

And it worked all though winter into spring.

Today was the first day we passed 80F outside and I noticed if I dial down the desired internal temp it won’t kick on.

The blower works fine but I can tell the compressor isn’t kicking in.

Does this sound like a thermostat issue?

When it works, it REALLY works, so I don’t have a lack of refrigerant or blown cap.

Check with your meter and see if it’s calling outside on the thermostat wires.
Or see if the contactor is pulled in.

It could be a fuse, breaker, disconnect - check them all.
It could be the T-Stat, or even something simple as the batteries.
