I'm building a basement workshop and want to keep the table saw and other machine noise from the main house level as best I can. The ceiling is low and there are pipes/electrical I may want to access, so I don't plan to drywall the ceiling.
- What is the proper method to install ceiling insulation between joists without drywalling? I read that the paper side should be up, so I guess I can't staple it. Is there some kind of plastic or something I should use to prevent pink dust from raining down?
- What insulation do I need? What R rating? Pink or some specialty product?
