I'm a new dad from Los Angeles. I grew up here, went to college here at Caltech, then escaped briefly to San Francisco for work before getting sucked back

I'm a software engineer who has more or less never built anything that's not virtual, so I'm a total DIY newb.

Hobbies: I rock climb — I've climbed El Capitan, which is the cliff in the Free Solo documentary, several times. I also backcountry ski — I've traversed several mountain ranges on skis with a tent on my back. Yes, it was cold, especially for a native Angeleno!

Where in LA are you? There's a huge difference between, say, NoHo, and El Sereno and Mar Vista.
