Just a quick hello to introduce myself. I just recently bought my first home at a foreclosure sale and currently working on updating it. All the carpeting and tile has been removed and I am started to line up all the rest of the stuff that needs to be done before we move in. The house was built in 1997 and looks to be extremely solid but poorly maintained. I can't wait to get her remodeled and move in and then over the course of the next few years address all the little issues and feel confident in all the systems of the house.

Although I am going to contract out many of the larger projects I am not planning on hiring a general contractor to manage the subs. I plan to get three plus bids on each project and then select the sub that I feel brings the most value (not always cheapest, I think experience is very important).

I hope you all don't mind my questions and promise to search first before posting. Unfortunately we all know the vBulletin search is not the greatest so excuse me if I post something that has been discussed before.

Thanks for the welcome! This remodel is really consuming a lot of time but it's fun! I am sure the little project will nearly never end!
