I need to totally disconnect a commercial 4 bulb fluroescent light which is at the end of a run. What do I do with the remaining wires? Thanks

Mount a junction box and put a cover on it.
Or remove the wire back to the last working fixture.

What is the safest method: Capping each wire with a wire nut and putting them in the junction box or put the wires together with one wire nut and put them in the junction box?

Do not connect together the wire ends that used to feed the light (!)

That will cause a short circuit.

Use a separate wire nut for each wire end. You will probably need electrical tape to keep the wire nut from fallling off. Several layers of tape and no wire nut will work too.

I suggest leaving the wire there in case the next owner of the house wants to use it.

If you are going to leave the live wires in a capped junction box that box must remain accessible. You can not bury it under drywall.
