I just had my bathroom tiled - the floor.
The installer put a almond color plastic strip at the edge of the tile...where the door is. the strip is not doing so well...with the grout that he set in it...is chipping out. I am now going to put hardwood thru out the rest of the room...and want the hardwood to butt right up to the tile..without this plastic trim piece in between. the heights are the same - so it would be a nice smooth transition...and would look BETTER without this almond strip in between.
I assume this plastic trim piece (which is a bit loose) is under the existing tiles about in inch. My question is this...can I pull this out/remove said strip?
If so, how????
I would attempt to remove.....but want to know if i'm wasting my time. Any advice would be so helpful.

Sounds like a plastic edge profile----you are right--it goes under the tile
--However--you should be able to cut/split off the face with a chisel or utility knife--

Then carefully chip off any grout---when you add your new wood reducer--use a flexible caulk to fill the gap between the wood and the tile.
