Hello all,
Just purchased my first home right outside Philly. It was built in 1930 and is overall in pretty good shape. However, there are some things to be done that I want to take care of myself. I've never owned a home with a yard and all that before, so I have a lot to learn along the way (and a lot of time right now to do it). I'll be looking for advice on:
Removing carpet and perhaps refinishing the hardwood underneath.
Putting some kind of support beam or column in the basement. Right now there is a screw jack holding up part of the basement ceiling, from what I can tell.
Removing an old/unused/empty oil tank from a crawlspace.
General lawn/garden care
Building some furniture/tables/desks for home office. Maybe a dining table.
Networking closet/rack in the basement with ethernet drops running throughout the house.
Figuring out how to put AC in one day.
