I've read a lot of threads on here and finally decided to join, doing the ultimate diy project of building my own house. Been struggling to find some solid answers on a few things.

Where in Idaho? I lived in Pocatello in the 70's. Worked at Eddie Bakeries, and Sterling & Keely's Food Service. Loved being in the Rockies and would still be out there if wife could handle the weather. One of the most beautiful sights I've seen was going through the canyon out of Idaho Falls and getting my first glimpse of the TETONS. I'm 69 now, and still remember my first trip to Jackson Hole. Absolutely beautiful.
ok, I'll stop rambling and say that we all commend you for your undertaking building your house !! It's a daunting task, and we all here will help as much as we can brother. Lots of knowledge and experience on these sites.:biggrin2:
