My first post here on DIY Chatroom. I'm a retired civil servant and have always enjoyed working on my house since I bought it new back in 1980. Since the advent of the internet I have been able to tackle more projects thanks to other DIYers and pros who share their expertise on places like this. I've installed hardwood floors, hardwood stair treads and risers, skylights, a cedar ground level deck and have built a work bench, garage shelving and have worked with electricity a bit, though I proceed very cautiously with that. I hope that I can help others occasionally as well as get some advice on future projects.
