Hello, Can anyone point me to a how-to video on how to replace the blower motor in HEIL N8MPN100F14A1 furnace. All HVAC companies are booked a month out so I have to do this.

That's a pretty generic unit, just find a video of replacing any furnace blower motor.

How do you know that the motor is bad?

I believe what you have is older and heil (all icp brands actually) had a lot of problems. Before you buy parts, pull the blower assembly out visually inspect the heat exchanger for popped rings and cracks.

It's a really important safety check.

It looks like this, but you would be checking from below.

The rings are where you see the holes above, they hold both pieces of metal together and can pop off.

Is your blower moving?
Is your blower noisy?
I replaced a Heil blower and cage last summer - I used after market parts: cage was half the cost of Tempster price, Fasco motor was a quarter of the price. Yes, prices vary wildly.
You must follow the wiring diagram precisely. Electrical parts are nonreturnable. After market motors can have different color wires. If you are not sure, don't take a chance and hire a tech.
If your furnace is old, consider replacing it, rather than repairing it...you might come out ahead.

ya generic is the way to go. normally the entire assembly doesn't need to be changed, just the motor.

the factory speeds shown on the schematic are not necessarily correct for the application though.

- In my case, the fan was hitting the wobbling cage.
