Define discharge pipe. Are you asking the depth of the trap seal? The max length of the tailpiece? The elevation of the trap arm?

I’ll guess that you mean the maximum trap seal depth. I had to investigate this recently as I struggled to make use of an existing drain connection with a new farmers sink where the drain is much lower. This is the code for BC.

Sorry, you'll have to excuse me, I'm not a plumber. I guess I'm referring to the "trap arm" that goes into the wall. if it's too far up in relation to the p trap, will it cause the drain to flow slower since it has to work against gravity. Oh, happy v-day to all you veterans. Thanks
