I'm in the process of laying down trafficmaster allure ultra floating vinyl plank. So far so good I suppose. Takes a lot longer than they advertise, but I'm also a beginner.

I bought an air hockey table that weighs somewhere between 280 and 300lbs. With the expansion of the planks at some point, I want to make sure I won't have too much weight on there that will inhibit the movement. I will have an expansion gap all around.

I looked up the rating and my planks can take up to 200psi. The feet on my table are something like 4 inches across, so as far as specs go, I think I'm good. Just to be safe because of other factors, I was thinking of trying to disperse the weight more. Would it help to make something like wider plywood feet with felt to go under, or even a full platform? I figure I should use felt regardless though.

HD sells a variety of the pads and feet that are different sizes and covered in felt.My advice would be to return the Allure when you go to get the pads.Unless your on a strict budget you can do much better.

The budget wasn't overly strict but the stuff we bought was $3 sqft, which isn't cheap for vinyl plank. It's one if the nicer we looked at and is totally waterproof, which was a necessity, unlike most of the other options. The stuff we wanted from lowes was on indefinite backorder, and the stuff we looked at from shaw and other flooring brands was quite a bit higher.

Thanks to each of you for the info. I was thinking the rating dividied by the legs would be fine. Just though if I widened the footprint a bit it would be a safer bet. The couches we're using both have two motorized sections and are pretty heavy as well, so I might put some wider feet on them too.
