I have a boiler with 2 zones (1st floor and 2nd floor). The 1st floor pump makes a humming noise when it is on. I can hear it on the 1st floor. It seems to still be working. The temp in my house has been staying constant. What could the problem be?

It sounds like 60 hz vibration coming through. Check the rubber cushions on the compressor. Make sure they're not cracked. Check the condenser cabinet for any looseness or vibration against the house.

It is a Taco 007-F3 Cartridge Circulator.

I did say it was for a boiler. Sorry, I just didn't know the technical name for it. I assume mentioning it was for a boiler and it was a pump, everyone would know what I was talking about.

Nothing wrong. Bob just missed the ING part in heating pump.:smile:

Technically it is called a circulating pump.

Not a pro, but a believe those pumps are not really serviceable and best replaced. In the days of yore we used to have pumps with deprecate motors and pumps and a coupling between the two that used to go bad. But these are not those.

The cartridge can be replaced on that circ, its not hard to do. But you may have to drain the system, if there are no isolation valves.
