I noticed couple weeks ago that my thermostat in the living room was set on 68 but the temp said it was 55 in our house. I walked outside and noticed the outside unit was iced over inside and outside. The outside unit was replaced 10 months ago and I called the serviceman. He replaced the "board" and it has worked till today. Same scenario again today. Thermostat was set to 68 but it was 57 in our house. I called serviceman and he's coming later today. What's the problem? Replace the unit while still under warranty?

Till the tech gets there, switch the stat to cool and run for a for a few minutes to defrost.

Thats fine but any ideas what is wrong?

Could be several things. Does it go into defrost mode at all?
