Hi everyone,
I am removing old carpet from the stairs and replacing with oak. The upstairs is carpet. How does the carpet tie into the stair. The last step doesn't have a nose. Thank you for the help.

The top step or landing needs a landing tread, the carpet butts into the back of the landing tread.

Which one first

Thank you for the quick response. We are getting new carpet upstairs, does the landing tread get installed before the new carpet?

Yes it does, the carpet is installed to the back edge of the landing tread.

Thanks I think I got it. I'm gonna need to explain it to the carpet installer because he wanted to go around the nose.
