How is the quarter round cut to install at door, straight cut or angle cut? If angle what degree?

I usually cut the quarter round at an angle when I come to a door or opening, (45 degree on both sides of the door)

I cut on an angle too. I usually don't carry the angle all the way to the point of the corner. I leave a small flat equal to how much the door casing sticks out past the base. That way the angle should finish just about at the outer edge of your casing.
