Yes, that’s the recipe I use…except I leave out the orange zest and change the currents to walnuts and dates. It's not that kind of soda. . .

Good I needed a recipe since I can’t remember how I cooked it last year. It’s 9 o’clock I better get started. Mine is 2.5 lbs so i guess less cooking time. I’m skipping the carrots although they add color. we eat so many carrots because we buy them for the bunny and eat his so Im tired of carrots.I think I got this recipe from Colby years ago..
3-4 lb. corned beef brisket
1-12 ounce beer (no lite beer)
1/2 c. chopped onions
2 garlic cloves, smashed
1 tsp. black pepper
2 tsp. white vinegar
2 bay leaves
Put in slow cooker on low...cook 6 hours then remove broth 3 hrs on high, 3 hours on low (leave meat in cooker on warm until you cook the cabbage and potatoes) and transfer broth to pot to cook cabbage and potatoes...boil cabbage and potatoes and carrots until done.
Then cut meat and put on platter with cabbage, potatoes and carrots
Wow, theres barely enough left for one big Reuben. No photo - my cabbage fell apart and my onion too. Maybe it boiled too fast instead of simmered.Yes, cook it for less time..ours was 4 1/2 lbs…
