I have a Haier CPRD12XH7 12,000 BTU AC that I am using in my garage. The fan runs but it doesn't seem to be cooling. It has 2 hoses off the back. One is hot air exhaust and the other is a cool air return for the condenser. Both are vented out the side wall of the garage, each through a 4" dryer vent. The 2 vents are approx. 3 ft apart.

The manual lists the operating temp range at 41F to 95F. Does this mean if the temp is above 95F it won't kick in? It's currently 97F. It's a new unit and when I was venting it under the garage door, it worked fine...it didn't keep up but it was cooling.

Peace,
Mark

1st.Try pulling th unit away from the wall the streighten the hoses. they may be to restrictive bunched up like that.
2nd the vent covers on the outside may also be redusing air flow to much they act like a additional elbow and remove the flappers if they have them. most of the units I have seen do not utilize a hood on the outside only a stright pipe with maby a bug screen.

Good luck

Hi. Thanks for the suggestions. I have determined that the blower is shutting down, causing the compressor to exceed operating temp, then it shuts down. Haier is sending a tech out to look at it this Wed. I'm thankful they offer on-site for the first year.

Peace,
Mark
