H5ICAT - what am I missing

2409 Views 4 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  jpsmith
Last night I installed an H5ICAT can light, but am dumbfounded about how to attach the light socket to the can housing. The socket was packed into the can with some cardboard, as can be seen in this picture:

After taking the cardboard out, I have no idea what to attach the socket to. Am I missing a piece? Seems there should be something spanning the can for the socket to snap into, but there isn't. I'll snap a pic of what I have this evening, if that helps.

Thanks!

The socket is inserted into the trim socket hole and the trim slides into the housing using the attached torsion springs that slide into the brackets where the cardboard is.
Ah, so you need a trim piece with the H5I? It's the only 5" one I used; all my others were H7ICAT, which has the socket affixed to the can.

That is correct.
Well that explains it. Thanks!
