Sink is drained to a pump up toilet which is vented to the roof.
toilet works great.
Should the sink have its own vent?
The installation instructions showed it without a separate vent.

Sometimes a cheater or aav vent works if allowed in your area.

It only gurgles when you use the sink.

If sink gurgles while the water is draining you probably have a partial blockage and air is being pushed back out the sink as the water fills the pipe. Snake sink drain

If sink gurgles after the sink is emptied of water then air is being pulled thru the trap as water flows down the pipe. You need a vent.


Whether or not you need a vent depends on size of pipe and how far it is to toilet drain.

There must a blockage because gurgling sound always indicates obstruction.
