Grub control - too early?

We noticed lots of mole tunnels on our lawn and back yard. I bought Bayer 24 Hour Mole Control, but the directions say to use between July and
September, when the grubs are young.
Would it be a waste of time and money to apply it now?

What has worked for you to get rid of the moles?
