Hi All. I have three wires sticking out above my basement door - all of the same color and gauge. I want to hang a light there, so I need to determine which one is which. Now, hot is easy. But how do I tell which one of the remaining two wires is neutral and which is ground? Is there an easy way?
(Voltage between any of those wires and hot is exactly the same)

I would disconnect the neutral wire at the breaker box and check again

You should not have 3 wires all the same color. Are these wires in conduit?

I know that I should not. Unfortunately, it was wired this way before I bought the house.
