Hello. I am planning on putting down some new grass seed to fill in a ton of dead spots on my lawn. I had basement water proofing work done last year and my lawn was dug up. It was re-seeded last year, but it is very spotty. I wanted to put down new grass seed in the dead spots and over seed where I already have grass. I just had a few questions. thanks for reading
1. Correct me if I am wrong. I can not put down any fertillizer when I am seeding, before or after or it will kill the seeds, right?
2. I have a lot of pine trees in the front of the house. Can I dose my lawn with a ton of lime to neutralize the acidity? Will this affect my seeds?
3. My soil in front of the house where there is no grass looks very dry. How should I prepare this dry soil? Can I attach something to my riding mower and mix up the soil or treat it in any way? Maybe add some nice soil on top and mix it up? maybe just rake it up with a hard rake. What should I do?
4. If I can't put fertillizer down close to putting the seeds down, how long do I have to wait before adding it without killing my seeds?
