Granite help!

Hi, our granite counters are seven years old, and it seems like we have a lot of pitting and roughness and dullness. It is Venetian gold granite with veins running through it. We spend a lot of time cooking, cleaning and baking on them. We have resealed them twice, the last time about a year ago. I was wondering if there is something out there that can be applied to bring back some of the smoothness and shininess? Unfortunately i know most the damage is my fault because i was not aware of how to take care of my granite, by NOT using cleaners. having a professional come out, is not in our budget right now. Is there any advice you could give me at least to preserve what I have for now, till we can get somebody to come out?
