Not sure what these are used for ...before install or after. Can we use them to buff our existing granite countertops? Thanks

if you know the grit originally used to polish your c-top, of course - just pick the right grit & use plenty of water,,, you might be better advised to use hand pads

How are these pads used? Attached to a drill? Do I need an attachment?

most pads that size are velcro-back'd but some are still magnetic,,, you may be fine w/just some hand pads
