Hey guys - finally figured that I would round up around my new chain link fence this summer.

I am 6 feet tall, and do not want to be hunched over going around a couple hundred feet of perimeter. Nor would I like to stop every 10 feet to pump something if avoidable.

And, of course, I don't want to spend a lot!

Can anyone recommend an automatic sprayer that they have used that has a LONG handle or telescoping handle - and is battery powered - yet has a good strong spray?

Thanks for any suggestions!

PS - I don't reeeaally care about how many gallons it holds if it meets the above specs.

You should care about the capacity. If you've got enough fence line to make your back hurt while doing it . . . you've got enough fence line to where it's going to get annoying stopping to mix another gallon over and over. Most of the decent quality battery sprayers (Chapin, Solo) are going to run you well into the $100 range. You'd be better off with a manual backpack style.

I think you're underestimating the pump sprayers. My 2 gallon roundup brand works great, has a huge spray pattern and will last quite a while before needing to repump. I filled it up with 1.5 gallons last week and I had stop 4 maybe 5 times to repump.

Bought the harbor freight one (so cheap - worth a shot).

It sprays GREAT.. I have to keep pumping to keep up the pressure, but its a backpack - so I dont have to stop spraying while I pump. I must look hilarious, but it works!

Now my gripe is the round-up concentrate I bought.

I got the regular concentrate - poured the WHOLE thing into 4 gallons.

So like 1.4 times what it needs. Figured this would annihilate the weeds/grass that I didn't want... no such luck. 2 days later now, and maybe a LITTLE sign of browning in SOME areas...

Maybe I will get the SUPER concentrate (50% active chems).

Ayuh,..... Round-up takes alittle time, give it a week,.....

If ya want instantaneous results, spray a high concentration of Clorox bleach,...

The bargain brands right outa the bottle are a close 2nd,....
