Can't tell by the pic. If the romex is 12 ga. and the breaker is rated for 20 amps should be no problem.

Buy the 15 amp version and it will work with a 15 or 20 amp circuit

Just for giggles, the exposed Romex is a no no.

Sad someone does such a neat job obviously really caring about doing it right, but do not realize they should not have exposed romex.
If you can verify that the entire crt.was run in 12/2 Romex yes,but if not use a 15A .the GFI is just a different with a night light .
If you can't verify and you install it you run the chance of a burn out along that crt.

As long as it it not subject to damage, exposed Romex is not an issue.

I don’t know a single inspector that would let that fly. I wouldn’t let it.
Looks like an unfinished basement, not sure why it wouldn't fly 🤷‍♂️

OP said it was a garage

And what is the violation you would cite?

I’m not hear to argue about it. If you like it, fine.
Exposed non-metallic cable is acceptable as long as it is not subject to physical damage. I'd pass it.
The GFI with the night light will fit in a one gang box.

Not being argumentive but if you fail an install, you would need to cite the reason for the failure.
It is often stated on this forum that NM cable cannot be left exposed, but a valid reason is never cited.

The NEC allows NM to be run on the surface and where not subject to physical damage. I don't see an issue that would subject the cable to damage.

Unless the inspector can prove subject to physical damage, he has no reason not to pass it!
It’s in a garage. Probably around 4’ AFF (it looks like). How is that not subject to damage. I’m sure this is interpretive, but all is needed is a male adaptor at the top and a short nipple in between to be compliant.
According to the NEC that location is not subject to physical damage. While we personally may not like it or install it, it is not a violation.
