New to this chat room. Glad to be aboard. I am looking for info on the Ontario Building Code. Topic is on GFCI requirements in my garage. I have a detached garage with 115v hydro supplied underground to the service inside. It was like this when I moved here. Are receptacles inside the garage required to be on GFCI? Also......fed from the same circuit inside, there is a receptacle on the outside of the garage. I am sure this needs to be protected, but I was wondering about inside receptacles.
Thanks for any help:smile:

Thanks for the quick response joed!
Information is appreciated. I have one more situation that I forgot about. There is an outdoor receptacle in the driveway as well that is not a GFCI receptacle. The wire going to it from inside the house (in my workshop) is accessible, and I was going to install another receptacle in my workshop anyway. If I want to protect the outside receptacle, is it possible to install a new GFCI receptacle in my workshop and have the outside receptacle downstream from the new one, and be protected on that GFCI circuit?
Thanks.

Yes you can attach it to the LOAD terminals of the GFCI in the garage. It can be attached to the outside one you are installing.

Don't forget the 12 outlet limit per circuit. That is maximum of 12 of any combination of receptacles, lights, fans, any other power using device.
