Around here a lot of the communities have recycling centers that you can drop off stuff just like that. We have a place in our city that we can take unlimited yard waste to, as well as used motor oil and coolant, metal, concrete, TV's and computers. All free as well.
Give your city call a call.
I scrounge wood from people like you to heat my house. I burn everything down to about 1.5" in my wood stove, but really I only take the small stuff (under 3-4") as a favor to people who give me wood.
Craigslist can work well & so can just putting it out by the curb. Just don't put a bunch of restrictions like "you must take all the wood and brush, rake up the leaves, cut my lawn...." or say no chainsaws allowed when the trunk is 20" across and in 8 foot sections...
Burn the brush if you can legally/safely. Otherwise if you're in a more urban area, cut it up for yard waste collection.
Half of our city is still waiting for branch pickup, from a storm that blew through over three weeks ago. Then on top of that, more branches are piled up from the storm that blew through this week, so the piles keep getting larger.
Of course, we can always haul it out to the local yard that grinds it into mulch, but not everyone has a pickup in my town, or wants to pay a lawn care company money to haul away something that the city should be doing.
