Hi there. I moved into a house a few months ago and low and behold me getting into my ambitious ways tore down the wood paneling in my basement and found the foundation not in very good condition. I had the pros come out for some estimated and inspections. Turns out the problem is caused by two huge elms which should be coming down in the next couple of week
(moved in April and have had to clean the gutters 4 times now because they where full) back to the subject. Everyone suggesting we grade the soil. On the wall that is really bad they suggested we dig down and start to rebuild the soil and when we get about 6 inches to the top to lay down plastic sheeting ( this side of the house gets no sun. Nothing will grow) and attach it to the foundation. then stack more dirt on top and contiune the grade. More then one person told me this. Im a little confused on how to attach the plastic sheeting to the house. Any suggestions I would really appreciated.
