I am moving into a house that used to be a rental unit & the previous tenant painted over plastic tiles. They put something in the paint to give it texture so the tiles (& the walls) are covered in white with different size round balls (for a lack of a better word.) I think these are hideous & want to get rid of it & start over. However I don't know how. What can I use to get the paint off the plastic tile without ruining the tile & how do I get the texture off of the walls. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tough one. Might be alot of work in general, and depending how good it is stuck on the tiles might be easier to remove the tiles.

Not worth the time, get rid of it and start over.
Most likly they used mastic so plan on taking it back down to the studs.
Believe it or not, but it will be faster and come out better to start over.
