I moved in my home around 4 years ago. The garage door opener was here when I moved. The brand is a Genie model H2000 its a 1/2 hp chain glide system. The problem I'm having is that when trying to close or open the garage door it started making a clicking noise. I made sure the door wasn't detatched from where it goes into 2 the chain glide but it still does nothing but make a continuous clicking sound but the light comes on.

Your door safety is misaligned. There should be a sender and a reciever on either side of your door. Diddle around with them, until you get a green light on the sender. BTW you can override it by holding the door down button.
