A friend has asked me to help with his standby generator hookup. It's a pad-mounted gas unit with a separate automatic transfer switch, and will power a few key circuits, not the whole house. He apparently never got (or maybe lost) the paperwork explaining how to wire everything up. I have figured out electrically how I'd do it, but would like to see a diagram of an arrangement that is known to be code compliant (NEC 2009 here). Anyone have a link to such a diagram? Thanks.
