When I get cash changes, first goes into a pocket, not wallet, then leave them in separate container. Coins were already in their container then a coin counter when heavy enough. I thought few days would be ok but it turns out may be up to 10 days. Running out of cash, decided to iron them, since electricity is still in plenty. No specific info but it looks like iron on high is instant kill (virus is not really alive though).

I don’t want to touch a gas pump. I put a disinfectant wipe on the floor of the back seat of my truck. Then I put a nitrile glove on my left hand. Left touches pump and dispenser, right touches truck. I dip my card with the gloved hand and put it on the wipe in the truck before touching anything else. Then I pump using my hands as described. When done I throw the glove away. I wipe the card without touching it and leave it on the wipe till I get home. Paranoid but who washes their hands before pumping gas?

I always figured paper money was really disgusting, but I have learned recently that paper money kind of soaks up moisture somewhat and it is more difficult for it to transfer onto your hand. Coins are more likely to spread infection. Credit cards have kind of the same problem. Think about that hole you are sticking that credit card into and all the other credit cards that went in that same hole. I don't think wiping down a credit card is overkill. For me, though, it's all moot because I never leave the house. I don't know what ya'll are out there buying.

I like the grocery bag on hand technique. NY made those bags illegal a couple of months ago. They said, “Buy a reusable bag”. Now they want us to leave that filthy germ filled bag at home and stores don’t want us to bring them in. I think they suspended the plastic bag law but no one has them any more. I have to but a paper bag for a nickel. Wegmans wanted to disallow bringing in used plastic bags for reuse but the state said no, people can bring their own. After this is over my plan is to save bags while I an in FL for the winter and bring them home for reuse in the summer. I wonder which is better for the environment, recycling my plastic bags or burning my paper bags? I use paper bags to start fires in our wood burning furnace.

Re: general virus/mask info

https://www.nytimes.com/article/coronavirus-homemade-mask-material-DIY-face-mask-ppe.html

Above is about the virus sizes, tyvek and general info about masks.

General "surgical" mask and how to test them seems to be pouring water on it from inside (this is to block wearer's breath). I didn't think of searching for how surgical masks block incoming virus/mucus/split. But there was another article about how we push the air away as we walk around. If virus is in the air, just walking pushes the air away from us. This doesn't look good for people we walk past.

Noticing my hands are drying out. In nj and it became chillier than some winter days, warmest winter on record 2019. Virus can't go through all the dead skin cells but can if there is a cut or such. Don't wait till the skin cracks.
