GE Washing Machine

I just recently replaced my timer due the fact it would fill up with water ,spin but not agitate on any cycle. After installing the part this morning I tested it and and went through a normal wash cycle. When I tried again a few hours later it did the same thing as before it would fill up with water ,spin but not agitate. I am assuming since it does spin the belt is fine. At this point I don't know if I have something shorting it out or I have a bad switch lid which is magnetic or if I have a bad rely. Also I would I bypass the lid switch on this machine so that I can see if that is the case.
Thanks,
Brian

if it is spinning then the lid switch is not the problem. Does it try to agitate or does the machine just sit there and do nothing. Could be you have a bad transmission.
After the washing machine fills up it just sits there until I move it to where the cycle pumps out the water and then spins. If it is the transmission then why does pump out the water and then spins. Wouldn't the machine not do anything if the transmission is the problem?
model#? part# you replaced?
I don't have the part number with me at this time. I do thank you for the response however I don't think it is the transmission. I have replaced the part twice. The first time I replaced the part it worked for about 3 months before it went bad. The second time I replaced the part it lasted 1 cycle. When you start the cycle it will fill up with water and then after that it will sit there until you move the cycle to the drain and spin cycle. When you do that the washing machine will drain and spin like it should do. It does on all 3 water levels on all wash cycles. The part I have replaced is the timer and like I said I done this twice. I am thinking that maybe I have a bad rely since everything plugs into it including timer. That is the only thing I can think of since I doubt it is the motor or transmission since the machine will spin.
Thanks,
Brian
