Good morning:

We have been having trouble with our GE wall oven (JT910) for some time now. It will work normally for a while (weeks) and then the control pad will cease to work. None of the touch pad buttons work. The interior light will come on, some beeping will happen.... Sometimes it will right itself and begin to work OK, other times not. If I switch off the breaker it will correct itself, but sometimes it needs to be off for a while.

Sometimes I get an F7 error code.

I figure the problem is either the touch pad or the control board. Problem is, as far as I can tell, they are sold separately and each cost $200.

Any help that would save me from spending an unnecessary $200 would be appreciated.

Nope, its about 12 years old.

hate to tell you this but about the only way to repair this is going to be by trial and error. I would start with the touch pad as it is more likely to be the problem (in my experience).
