Was force to go to lowes to get a 1/2 female to 3/8 male reducer in order to adapt natural gas to my grill. The hose from the grill screws into the 3/8 male thread and the 1/2 female would screw into natural gas coming from house. The reducer seems cheap, actually same material as the end of a garden hose. I installed this reducer an no leaks detected. My question is, should I install a cast iron reducer? Just not sure if the piece I install will do? Thank you all in advance!!

Did it say if it was gas approved on the packaging? You could use a black iron bell reducer.
Can you upload a picture? Perhaps someone can verify its use.
