Gas Fireplace wont stay lit

Hi I have a TEMTEX gas fireplace that the pilot light wont stay lit after you stop depressing the manual gas valve. I believe the thermocouple sensor is not working, however I don't know how to test to ensure that is the problem.

its more than likely a power pile.. .. they are not so cheap....:(
I believe it is the thermocouple as the pilot won't hang in when the valve is let go. I would suspect the powerpile if the pilot hung in, but the main burners didn't fire. Of course, both should be properly tested, and the OP will need a meter and adapter to do it.
