Purchased a new gas dryer that has a plastic inlet for the gas line. The other dryers inlet was metal. Use tape for the plastic connection? Thanks.

I can not imagine using any plactic fittings in a gas line!

Impossible. You are looking at a plastic well plug. Hire a Pro.
