Recently I installed a garbage disposal/insinerator in my kitchen where previously there has been just another kitchen drain (out of two). I preserved most of the plumbing, made some additions and adaptation as shown below:

It has been working flawlessly. Whereever there was a thread I used sealing compount and used the fittings the came with the kit bought at the hardware store. I would like to have a second oppinion though.
