So, this is a slightly related to DIY question, be it a bit odd. In my garage, I have aluminum blinds over the window. These things build up with sawdust, dust, cobwebs, whatever - and are a pain in the butt to clean. The shopvac with a brush attachment only does so much.

What does anyone else have covering their windows in their garage or workshop?

I've never seen any coverings over the windows in a shed or garage for all the reasons you stated.

I didn't think there was an easy solution, otherwise it would probable be commonplace. I considered installing some of those static window films to the window, so you cannot see it, but some sunlight can still come through. I'm on the fence with how that would work out though.

Different application, but, for what it's worth, I put that film on the lower panes of our bathroom windows quite a few years ago, sort of a flowery panel, so that we could eliminate the curtains across the bottom, and they have held up very well to the humidity there. I think for the cost they would be worth a try.
