Hey everyone, new here but I have a troubling problem with my "garage."
I would like to apologize in advance for not fully knowing the correct terminology for everything I'm going to be talking about, but I will do my best here. So my house that I am living in is a pretty nice setup as it sits, however there is a problem with the "garage." this garage is still technically a car port with garage doors on one end, and the other end is just got screen up to enjoy the outside. I would really like to make this a REAL garage of sorts but the more I look into everything its looking like a dead end. The roof is flat with a slight slant but the damn thing leaks! The north east corner is starting to rot away and support beams have large rotting "shims" under them. I've thought about just doing my best at fixing one thing at a time but NOTHING is square, and just hinky in general, I am almost sure its been added onto more than once. If I need to take pictures I will but maybe I'm hoping for a little advice right now.

I was laying in bed when I heard the horrific sound of an old car port crack up and come crashing down. If someone was under it at the time, they wouldn't be reading this now. Knock it down. From your description, it sounds like what I had. :surprise:

Sounds like you'll be wanting to change the pitch on the roof while you're at it.
